Polemonium Peak, Oct 10-12
At 14080 feet, Polemonium Peak was the last of my CA 14ers, and ended up being one of the most challenging. We climbed the U-notch, where 7 pitches of ice led to 3 short pitches of rock. We left camp at 6am, and making our last rappel onto the glacier in the dark, returned to camp more than 15 hours after we left. A storm came in a few days later and blanketed the Sierra with snow, making this particular weekend one of the last I could have (or would have wanted to) climb this peak this year.
