Valley of the Moon is a mildly remote section of BLM land on the border (the border wall is clearly visible) with Mexico within San Diego country. Its huge boulders and rock towers mimic Joshua Tree, and although VOM offers some great rock climbing, I explored this area with friends on mountain bikes.
